be cool. that's basically it.

soonspins is supposed to feel like an underground radio station and mix archive — the kind of place you stumble into and end up staying for a while. for that to work, the chat has to feel welcoming. a few simple rules:

do

• react to the music. say what you're feeling.
• recommend mixes and tracks to other listeners.
• share your own work when it fits — but not constantly.
• welcome new people. you were new once.

don't

• slurs. not as a joke, not ironically, not at all.
• harassment or threats toward anyone for any reason.
• doxxing — sharing real names, addresses, phone numbers, or any personal info someone hasn't shared themselves.
• spam — scam links, crypto pumping, bot-style repetition, mass DMs (when DMs exist).
• impersonation of DJs, artists, staff, or other users.
• illegal stuff — CSAM, real threats of violence, anything you'd get arrested for.

how moderation works

light touch. cursing is fine. weird is fine. arguing is fine. admins step in for the "don't" list above, mostly by deleting messages, pulling uploads, and occasionally suspending accounts. we'd rather not be heavy-handed.

if you see something that crosses a line: profiles, tracks, and chat messages all have a small "report" link (hover a chat message, or look under a profile/track) that flags it for admin review. you can also block another user directly from their profile — their chat messages stop showing up for you. either way, you can also email contact@soonspins.com if something needs faster attention.
